While this contemporary home in Ann Arbor was unique it lacked entry definition. The client was also looking to add a more informal living area to complement their existing formal spaces. Through the addition of a family room, reconfiguration of the interior entry spaces, and a new curved porch canopy we were able to create a spectacular entry in keeping with the home's contemporary style.
Located on a large parcel of property in Ann Arbor, this 1950’s home was in need of a visual improvement as well as additional living space. The addition of a second floor and development of an under-utilized lower level created spectacular living spaces for the modern family. Designed in a cottage style this home offers the character of a classic Sea Side residence with the modern luxuries of a newly built house, allowing this house to beautifully compliment the exquisite lot on which it resides.
Developed as part of a kitchen and mudroom addition, this screen porch became the focal point of an otherwise very ordinary home. As part of a developer's subdivision, this home lacked character to set it apart from its neighbors. Using materials and forms in context with the existing home, this element became more than just a place to enjoy the weather, it became the focal point providing the unique character the client desired.
